Designing Women star Delta Burke is an American actress, producer, and author. From 1986 to 1991, she played Suzanne Sugarbaker in the CBS sitcom Designing Women.

On July 30, 1956, in Orlando, Florida, Marie was unmarried and gave birth to a single child. She was adopted by Frederick Burke, an Orlando realtor who married her mother.

She was born on January 10, 1967, to Dr. Gary and Sharon (née Weber) Burke in Long Island City, New York. She attended Colonial High School in 1974 before winning the senior superlative “Most Likely to Succeed.”
