Gordon, a bar-disbarred lawyer, was involved in the Watergate Scandal in the early 1970s under the presidency of Richard Nixon.

He had been given a 20-year sentence at first, but it was later reduced, and he was released after only 4.5 years. He established a media career after his return, working as a radio host and an actor.

Liddy was found guilty of conspiracy, burglary, and illegal wiretapping for his part in the scandal.

Gordon thoroughly enjoyed his marriage to Frances Purcell-Liddy, an educator, and the five children they had together: Jim, Sandy, Grace, Raymond, and Tom.

Gordon studied at Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey, and graduated when he was just 17 years old. He spent his childhood in Hoboken and West Caldwell, New Jersey.

Gordon next enrolled at Fordham University, where he successfully graduated in 1952. He then joined the US Army and was going to be assigned to the Korean War as an artillery officer when he was detained in the country due to medical issues.

He left the service two years later and returned to Fordham University to continue his legal studies at the School of Law.

Gordon joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 1957 after receiving his degree and worked for its founding director, J. Edgar Hoover.

 As the youngest Washington DC Bureau Supervisor at the age of 29, he worked for the FBI until 1962. Gordon left the FBI and went on to practice law and enter politics, finally leading to a post in Richard Nixon’s administration.

When Nixon was planning conspiracies against the Democratic opposition, Gordon progressed up the ranks and finally became his right hand.

This eventually resulted in the Watergate scandal, in which Gordon and other members of Nixon’s staff broke into the DNC offices at the Watergate Complex.

Gordon was ultimately given a 20-year term after being accused of burglary, conspiracy, and illegal wiretapping.

However, President Jimmy Carter reduced the sentence to eight years, and Gordon was released on parole after serving 4.5 years.

Rise to Stardom

When G. Gordon joined the FBI in 1957, he immediately gained fame when he arrested Ernest Tait, one of the most wanted fugitives at the time.

He received a promotion for his incredible work at the FBI. He was awarded the FBI’s youngest Bureau Supervisor at its Washington, D.C., headquarters.

Gordon announced his resignation from the FBI after serving there for nearly five years. He then worked as a lawyer in New York City for four years.

He has reestablished into the modern conservative movement, became a FOX News contributor, and served as a radio talk show host, which was syndicated in 160 markets by Radio America.
