Ginger Renee Zuidgeest, known professionally as Zee, was raised in Orange County, California. She is the daughter of Dawn Zuidgeest-Craft (née Hemleb) and Robert Zuidgeest.

The family lived in Michigan before she was a year old.

Zee’s Dutch father, Rick, named her after the Gilligan character on Gilligan’s Island because of his love for the show.

Zee has a stepfather named Carl Craft in her extended family, as well as two half-sisters Adrianna and Elaina Craft.
