John Carter Cash is an American country singer-songwriter, author, and recording artist. He is the only child of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, as well as the great-grandson of Maybelle Carter.

However, Cash is also well-known as a skilled record producer, having worked on his mother June Carter Cash’s LP Press On, which was awarded the 2000 GRAMMY for Best Traditional Folk Album.

John Carter was born on 3 March 1970 in America to his parents Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Further, he is the grandson of Maybelle Carter.

John Carter spent much of his life on the road with his parents, and he learned to play from true masters of the craft, such as at the knee of his grandmother, Maybelle Carter, who was a renowned guitarist.

He has released three critically-acclaimed solo albums since the early 2000s — Bitter Harvest, The Family Secret, and We Must Believe In Magic — after learning it from genuine experts such as his grandmother.

He is the only son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and has six half-sisters, including Rosanne Cash, Kathy Cash, Cindy Cash, Tara Cash, Carlene Carter, and Rosie Nix.

He grew up in a home where country music was always playing. His parents’ legendary love affair began on stage at Dallas’ Big D Jamboree in December 1961 when Johnny invited June to perform with him.
