Early Life of Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler was born on 21 June 1996 and raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey, but his family moved to Dallas, Texas when he was a kid.

He played golf at Highland Park High School before enrolling at the University of Texas from 2014 to 2018, where he helped his team win three Big 12 titles and received Phil Mickelson Freshman of the year title in 2015.

In 2016, Scheffler earned his first invitation to the U.S. Open. He made the cut with a first-round 69, but he would miss it by one stroke after carding a second-round 78.

After surviving a 4-for-3 playoff in 2017, Scheffler qualified for the 2018 U.S. Open, becoming just the third amateur to do so.

Through qualifying school, Scheffler earned his 2019 Tour card and became the second-youngest champion in the tour’s history at 21 years old.

On May 26, 2019, Scheffler birdied the second extra hole to force a playoff with 54-hole leader Marcelo Rozo in the Evans Scholars Invitational.

On August 18, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio, Scheffler captured the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. In the final round at Ohio State University’s Scarlet Course, Scheffler shot 4-under 67 for a two-shot victory.

He recorded a 12-under 272 for the week and was two strokes ahead of Brendon Todd, Beau.

The Korn Ferry Tour Finals (the Tour is now known as the Korn Ferry Tour) included an event at Mira Vista GC in Temecula, California.

Scottie Scheffler Personal Life

Scheffler married his 6-years girlfriend Meredith Scudder in December 2020. Scottie and Scudder both grew up in Texas, where they met and dated one another.

In his youth, Scottie attended Highland Park High School, where he met and dated Scudder.

However, when the pair enrolled at university, Scheffler would go to the University of Texas while Scudder would attend the rival University of Texas A&M.

Despite their rivalry, Scheffler would frequently visit his girlfriend on the TAMU campus, and both graduated in 2018.

During his time at university, Scudder worked as an intern in Zambia for a few months.

Despite the long-distance, the pair stayed together and, on a hike at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in June 2020, Scheffler proposed to Scudder while out on a stroll.
