In 2000, Simon Monjack directed, produced, and wrote the B movie Two Days, Nine Lives. He was given story credit for the biographical film Factory Girl (2006), which told the story of Warhol actress/model Edie Sedgwick.
According to George Hickenlooper, “Monjack had nothing to do with Factory Girl” and “he filed a baseless lawsuit against us…making false claims that we stole his script. He held us literally hostage and we were forced to settle with him as he held our production over a barrel.” Monjack rejected these claims.

Death
In January 2010, Linda Monjack, Monjack’s mother, told People that her son was “unwell and undergoing tests.” It is not for me to say whether he has a heart condition; you should inquire about it.
I think it’s well-known, and I understand that he had a minor heart attack a week before Brittany’s death.”
According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, Montejack was discovered lifeless in his Hollywood home on May 23, 2010.
According to authorities, the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched for a medical emergency after Murphy’s mother, Sharon, discovered Monjack unconscious in the master bedroom at 9:20 p.m., and then phoned 911. Monjack was declared dead by paramedics at 9:45 p.m.
The coroner’s report concluded that Monjack died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia, identical to the causes identified with his wife’s death five months earlier in the same house.
He was buried next to Murphy at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. Sadly, a strong got ended with a non-happy moment.

Simon Mark Monjack was married twice. Firstly he married Simone Bienne in Las Vegas in November 2001. But they divorced five months later in 2006.
That year, Simon Mark Monjack met actress Brittany Murphy. In April 2007, the couple got married in a private Jewish ceremony at their Los Angeles home.
They did not disclose their engagement early and rarely made public impressions together before their marriage. On 20 December 2009, Murphy died after crumpling in their bathroom.
