Dash is currently married to an attorney named Jeffrey Marty, who runs a satirical Twitter account for a phony congressman named Steven Smith. When President Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen retweeted the non-existent congressman’s support for Trump, this account became relevant.
On September 29, Dash called 911 and claimed that Marty had assaulted her during an argument. When cops arrived, they observed that Dash had pushed and slapped Marty, who was subsequently detained on domestic battery charges.
She was arrested and her bail was set at $500.00, which is the same amount she posted on Twitter. Marty paid for her bail.
Dash claims she acted in self-defense when Marty allegedly attempted to choke her. She pleaded not guilty to attacking her husband and is contesting the domestic battery charges against her in court on Wednesday.
She can’t afford her own lawyer. She started to be indigent and in need of a public defender, who filed her formal plea and requests a jury trial in a separate court filing.
